A comparison of what the main bank statement converters actually charge, with every figure read from the vendor's own pricing page in August 2026. The billing unit matters more than the headline price.

It depends on how long your statements are, because these tools bill for different things. DocuClipper and OFXStatement charge per page, AutoEntry charges 3 credits per statement page, and MoneyThumb Online charges per conversion regardless of length. Effective cost per statement page runs about $0.02 on OFXStatement, $0.18 to $0.48 on DocuClipper, and $0.56 to $0.78 on AutoEntry. Per conversion pricing beats per page pricing once statements pass roughly ten pages each.
Most comparison articles compare feature checkboxes and quote prices that went stale a year ago. These are the things that actually decide which tool costs you less.
One tool charges per page, another per credit with a multiplier on statements, another per whole conversion. The units are not comparable at face value.
Vendor prices move and comparison articles rarely get updated, so figures repeated across blogs are often a year or more out of date.
Per page tools count cover pages, summary pages and terms pages, which on some US bank statements is a third of the file.
Most of these tools do not sell top ups, so finishing the month slightly short means buying the whole next tier.
A tool that reverses debits or misreads dates costs more in correction time than it saves in subscription fees.
If you also process invoices and receipts, a statement-only converter may mean paying two vendors instead of one.
A focused converter for bank and credit card statements. Here is the honest scope.
The Starter plan includes 2,500 standard pages a month, which works out near 2 cents a page.
Export a clean OFX file, a CSV, or an Excel workbook.
Scanned PDFs and phone photos work out of the box in PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP, HEIC, and TIFF.
Templates tuned to the layouts and date formats US banks and card issuers actually use.
Bulk upload up to 50 files at once on the Plus plan, and merge a set of files into a single extraction.
We do not read invoices or receipts, do not sync into QuickBooks or Xero, and do not export QFX or QIF.
Test on real documents before you compare price lists.
Use a scanned regional bank statement, not a clean digital one from a national bank.
Tip: Clean PDFs make every tool look equally good.
Verify dates, transaction signs, and that the running balance still reconciles to the closing balance.
Tip: Accuracy failures cost more than subscription fees.
Count the pages you process in a normal month, including cover and summary pages, then price each plan against that.
Tip: Headline rates rarely match real usage.
Verified pricing for the four tools US buyers usually shortlist, and an honest read on which fits which workload.
High statement volume across many clients, where cost per page decides the monthly bill.
Building workpapers from multi-month statements at quarter end and tax season.
A handful of accounts a month, where entry plans run out mid statement.
Statements plus invoices and receipts, where one platform may beat two vendors.
Most comparison articles line up feature checkboxes and skip the thing that actually decides your bill: the billing unit. These tools do not just charge different amounts, they charge for different things. One counts pages, one counts credits with a multiplier on statements, and one counts whole conversions regardless of length. Every price here was read from each vendor’s own pricing page in August 2026.
| Tool | What it bills you for | Entry plan | Effective cost per statement page |
|---|---|---|---|
| OFXStatement | Pages processed | $49 a month for 2,500 pages | About $0.02 |
| DocuClipper | Physical PDF pages | $29 a month for 60 pages | $0.18 to $0.48 |
| AutoEntry | Credits, 3 per statement page | $13 a month for 50 credits | $0.56 to $0.78 |
| MoneyThumb Online | Conversions, one per document | $24.95 a month for 5 conversions | Depends on statement length |
Read that table before any feature list. If your statements run long, a per conversion tool is cheap and a per page tool is expensive. If your statements are short, the reverse is true. The unit, not the headline price, is what moves your monthly cost.
AutoEntry, which is owned by Sage, sells credits rather than pages. The catch is that credits are not spent evenly. An invoice costs 1 credit as a whole document, an invoice with line items costs 2, and a supplier statement costs 2. A bank or credit card statement costs 3 credits per page. So a 12 page statement consumes 36 credits, while a supplier invoice consumes one.
| AutoEntry plan | Credits | Price per month | Statement pages | Per page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 50 | $13 | 16 | $0.78 |
| Silver | 100 | $24 | 33 | $0.72 |
| Gold | 200 | $46 | 66 | $0.69 |
| Platinum | 500 | $103 | 166 | $0.62 |
| Diamond | 1,500 | $298 | 500 | $0.60 |
| Sapphire | 2,500 | $469 | 833 | $0.56 |
That is why the $13 entry plan, which sounds inexpensive, buys roughly 16 statement pages, or about one and a half monthly bank statements. Our AutoEntry alternative page works the arithmetic through in more detail, including where AutoEntry is clearly the better buy.
DocuClipper bills per physical PDF page, and it counts every page in the file, including the cover page, the summary page, the terms and conditions page and any blanks the bank pads the document with. Most third party articles quote three plans. Its own pricing page lists nine.
| DocuClipper plan | Price per month | Pages | Cost per page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter 60 | $29 | 60 | $0.48 |
| Starter 120 | $39 | 120 | $0.33 |
| Starter 300 | $79 | 300 | $0.26 |
| Business 640 | $159 | 640 | $0.25 |
| Business 1000 | $219 | 1,000 | $0.22 |
| Business 1500 | $299 | 1,500 | $0.20 |
| Enterprise 2000 | $400 | 2,000 | $0.20 |
| Enterprise 3000 | $599 | 3,000 | $0.20 |
| Enterprise 5000 | $899 | 5,000 | $0.18 |
The curve flattens fast. You pay roughly 20 cents a page whether you buy 1,500 pages or 5,000, and because DocuClipper does not sell top up pages, landing just above a tier boundary means buying the whole next tier. The DocuClipper review covers how page counting works and where the product genuinely earns its price.
MoneyThumb Online meters per conversion, meaning per document, not per page. Its monthly plans run from $24.95 for 5 conversions to $99.95 for 60, and unused conversions roll over and stay valid for the life of the subscription. Length does not matter: a 3 page statement and a 40 page statement cost the same one conversion.
That produces a clean break even against a per page tool. Compared with DocuClipper at roughly 25 cents a page on its Business tier, MoneyThumb at about $2.50 a conversion on the 20 pack becomes the cheaper option once statements run past about ten pages each. Under ten pages, per page wins. Our MoneyThumb alternative comparison goes through the desktop and online options separately.
There is no single best tool, only a best fit for a workload. The table below is the honest short version.
| If this is your situation | The tool that usually fits |
|---|---|
| Bank and card statements are the whole job, at volume | A converter priced per page |
| Mixed pile of statements, invoices, receipts and checks | DocuClipper |
| Supplier invoices into Sage or Xero, statements occasionally | AutoEntry |
| Native QBO or QFX files for QuickBooks Desktop or Quicken | MoneyThumb |
| Short statements, only a handful a month | MoneyThumb, billed per conversion |
| Long statements, 15 pages and up | A per page tool, not a per conversion one |
OFXStatement publishes this page, so treat any row favouring it with appropriate suspicion and check the claims yourself. We convert PDF and scanned bank and credit card statements into OFX, CSV and Excel. We do not read invoices or receipts, we do not sync directly into QuickBooks, Xero or Sage, and we do not export QFX or QIF. If you need any of those, one of the other three is the right answer.
Take your worst statement, not your cleanest. A scanned regional bank statement with a running balance column separates these tools far better than a crisp digital PDF from a national bank, where all of them do well. Run the same file through two or three trials in the same afternoon and compare the output side by side.
Then check three things in the extracted data before you look at price at all. Are the dates parsed correctly, including any day that could be read as a month? Does every transaction carry the right sign, so debits and credits are not reversed? Does the running balance still reconcile to the closing balance printed on the statement? A tool that fails any of those costs more in correction time than it saves in subscription fees.
Only then compare cost, and compare it on your real page count rather than the headline. Count the pages you process in a normal month, including cover and summary pages, and price each plan against that number. For the wider field, the best bank statement converter roundup covers the tools buyers usually shortlist together.
On cost per statement page, OFXStatement is about 2 cents on its Starter plan, DocuClipper runs 18 to 48 cents depending on tier, and AutoEntry works out at 56 to 78 cents because statements cost 3 credits a page. MoneyThumb bills per conversion instead, so it becomes cheaper than per page tools once statements run past roughly ten pages each.
DocuClipper publishes nine tiers, from $29 a month for 60 pages up to $899 a month for 5,000 pages, with 30 percent off annual billing. Cost per page falls from about $0.48 on the entry plan to about $0.18 at the top. It counts every physical PDF page, including cover, summary and terms pages.
AutoEntry US plans run from $13 a month for 50 credits to $469 a month for 2,500 credits, excluding VAT. Because bank and credit card statements cost 3 credits per page, that works out at roughly 56 to 78 cents per statement page. Invoices, by contrast, cost 1 credit per whole document.
It depends on statement length. Per conversion pricing charges the same for a 3 page statement and a 40 page one, so it favours long statements. Per page pricing favours short ones. Compared at roughly 25 cents a page against about $2.50 a conversion, the break even sits near ten pages per statement.
DocuClipper exports CSV, Excel, QBO, OFX, QFX, QIF and IIF, and MoneyThumb produces QBO, QFX, OFX and QIF. OFXStatement exports OFX, CSV and Excel, and does not produce QFX or QIF. AutoEntry publishes data directly into the connected accounting system rather than handing you a file.
Run your messiest scanned statement through each trial, then check three things in the output: that dates parsed correctly, that debits and credits carry the right sign, and that the running balance still reconciles to the closing balance on the statement. A tool failing any of those costs more in correction time than it saves in fees.
