Upload the statement PDFs from PNC Online Banking, years of them if you need to, and download the transactions as OFX, CSV or an Excel workbook. The parsed table appears before you pick a plan.

To convert a PNC Bank statement to OFX, download the PDF from Online Statements in PNC Online Banking, upload it to OFXStatement and export OFX, CSV or Excel. PNC says checking and savings statements stay online for up to seven years, so a multi-year catch-up rarely needs a paper request, as long as the account is still open.
PNC publishes different online retention periods for each account type, and the gap between them matters when you plan a cleanup. Seven years of checking is enough to rebuild nearly any tax or audit period. The card side is shorter, so pull those first if a project needs both.
Two caveats from the same PNC page: statement history may not be available once an account is closed, and asking for a paper statement on top of the online one can carry a fee. If you are about to close an account, download its full history before you do.
As stated on PNC's online banking page.
| Account type | Online history |
|---|---|
| Checking and savings | Up to 7 years |
| Credit cards | Up to 4 years |
| Mortgage and home equity | Up to 5 years |
| Investment accounts | Up to 10 years |
| Closed accounts | May not be available |
Only paper on hand? Scan or photograph the pages; JPG, PNG, TIFF and HEIC upload alongside PDF.
A new client with two or three years of unreconciled books. Seven years of PDFs are already online, so the work is converting, not chasing the bank.
Owners moving to Xero or QuickBooks Online who want prior months loaded as OFX or CSV instead of starting the ledger from zero.
Virtual Wallet users bringing history into Moneydance, GnuCash or Quicken after a connection broke or a new app was chosen.
Anyone who receives PNC statements as evidence of income or cash flow and needs every deposit in a sortable Excel sheet.
One conversion gives you all three formats, so the only decision is which file to import where.
| Destination | Use this file | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Xero | OFX | Xero recommends OFX for statement imports |
| QuickBooks Online | CSV or OFX | Bank upload accepts both |
| QuickBooks Desktop | CSV via an import utility | Web Connect reads only bank-issued QBO |
| NetSuite | OFX or CSV | Both are supported statement formats |
| Quicken | CSV | Quicken rejects OFX without the bank's own ID |
| Moneydance, GnuCash | OFX | Direct file import |
| Loan file or workpaper | Excel | One row per transaction, ready to sort and total |
Inside the OFX, each PNC posting gets its own STMTTRN record in OFX 1.0.2: the date as YYYYMMDD, a signed amount, check numbers kept as CHECKNUM, a 32-character NAME with the full text in MEMO, and a repeatable FITID so a second import of the same month is caught as a duplicate. The closing balance is written only when the statement prints it. Quicken users should follow the Quicken bank statement converter CSV steps, and Xero users the Xero bank statement converter guide.
In PNC Online Banking open the account, go to Online Statements and choose View PDF for each period. Save them into one folder per account.
Add the folder in one batch. Starter reads statements up to 25 pages; Plus has no page limit and accepts 50 files at a time.
Check extracted credits and debits against the balance summary on each statement before you export anything.
Take the OFX, CSV or Excel file from the table above into your ledger, budgeting app or workpapers.
Seven years of monthly statements is 84 files per account. Run them through the bulk bank statement converter rather than one at a time.
Pricing is per page. At about six pages a month, the full seven-year PNC checking archive for one account is roughly 500 pages, well inside one month of Starter.
| Plan | Cost | Pages included | Typical PNC job |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demo | $0 | 15 pages, 5 per file, watermarked | Confirming a statement parses before you commit |
| Starter | $49 monthly or $294 per year | 3,000 a month, 25 pages per statement | A full archive for a few accounts |
| Plus | $149 monthly or $894 per year | 12,000 a month, any length | Firms with many PNC clients, long business statements |
All plans are single-seat; larger Pro tiers are listed on the pricing page.
PNC states up to seven years for checking and savings, four years for credit cards, five years for mortgage and home equity loans and ten years for investment accounts. History may not be available after an account closes, so download it first.
Yes. Every conversion includes an Excel workbook and a CSV next to the OFX, with date, description, amount and check number as columns. Extra formats do not use extra pages.
Yes. Business statements with heavy deposit and ACH activity convert like personal ones. A statement longer than 25 pages needs the Plus plan, which has no per-statement page limit.
Not through Web Connect, which only opens a QBO file issued by the bank. QuickBooks Online imports our CSV or OFX directly. Desktop users load the CSV with a separate import utility.
No. You save the statement PDFs yourself and upload them; there is no connection to your PNC account. Files remain in your account until you delete them and are not used to train models.
