Refund Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

OFXStatement subscriptions are paid in advance and every payment is final. Before subscribing you can try the converter without a card, so you can check how a statement from your own bank comes out. This page sets out the only situations in which money is returned and how cancelling works.

Cancel whenever you like

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal in your account, without contacting us. Cancelling turns off future renewals immediately. Your plan and its monthly page allowance stay available until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Cancelling does not reverse a charge that has already been taken, and it is not a request for a refund.

Plans renew automatically, monthly or yearly. A renewal opens the new period and makes its payment due at once. When a card is declined, the amount remains due and the charge is retried over the next several days as part of the same unpaid invoice, which is not an additional charge. Cancelling during the retries stops later renewals but does not cancel the invoice for the period that has already begun. Cancel before your renewal date if you do not want another period.

Why payments are final

A subscription buys access to the converter for a billing period, with the page allowance listed on the pricing page. That access is granted in full when the period begins, so the price does not change with the number of statements you convert. By subscribing you ask us to begin the service immediately, and you acknowledge that any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period that might otherwise apply ends once the service has started at your request.

Not a reason for a refund

  • Changing your mind, finishing your bookkeeping backlog or switching to another tool.
  • Pages left unused at the end of a period, or not converting anything at all.
  • A statement that is scanned at low quality, password protected, damaged, or in a layout that converts with gaps you need to correct by hand.
  • How your accounting or budgeting software imports, matches or categorises the converted transactions.
  • A renewal, including one charged after an earlier attempt was declined.
  • Believing the subscription was a one-time purchase. Automatic renewal is stated on the pricing page, at checkout, in the confirmation email and in your account.
  • Forgetting to cancel before renewal, or cancelling just after it.
  • Choosing a plan, page tier or billing term that turned out larger than you needed.
  • The remainder of a period after cancelling. We do not pro-rate.
  • A feature you expected that is not listed on the pricing page.
  • Someone else using your account, including a colleague or bookkeeper you gave your login to.

The only exceptions

We return money only in one of these three cases, only when the records support it, and only for the charge in question.

  1. Duplicate billing. A fault in our billing charged you more than once for the same period.
  2. Proven unauthorised payment. Your card was used without your permission, you tell us within 14 days of the charge, and the transaction and account records confirm the payment was not yours. We decide on the evidence rather than on the claim, and may ask you to confirm that you have told your card issuer.
  3. Complete failure of the service. A confirmed fault on our side made conversions impossible for a continuous period, you reported it to us at the time, and we were unable to fix it. A slow conversion, one statement that fails, or a problem with your own device or connection is not a complete failure.

Any refund is limited to what you paid for the affected period, goes back only to the card that was charged, and is our full liability for that charge. A refund once given does not create a right to another.

Making a request

Email support@ofxstatement.com from the address on your account within 14 days of the charge. Include the date and amount and which exception applies. Requests sent after 14 days or by other means are not reviewed. We handle requests in the order received, we do not commit to a response time, and declined requests are not reopened.

Opening a chargeback with your bank without first writing to us breaches our Terms of Service and results in permanent closure of the account.

Records kept for every subscription

Creating an account means accepting our Terms of Service, which include this policy, and our Privacy Policy. Before payment, checkout shows the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal.

We keep the date and time of purchase, the plan and price shown, your acceptance of the terms, the emails sent to you, and a log of activity on the account, such as sign-ins, uploaded statements and downloaded files, with the technical details recorded alongside them. Our payment processor keeps its own record of each charge, including the country where the card was issued, where the payment originated and the outcome of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Claims of unauthorised payment are checked against these records, which we also provide to the card issuer when a chargeback is opened.

Subscriptions bought before this date

A subscription purchased before October 14, 2026 remains under the refund terms that applied when it was purchased.
