Upload the Wells Fargo statements you saved as PDFs, or scans of the paper ones, and get every deposit, check and withdrawal back as OFX for your ledger or as CSV and Excel for review. You see the rows before you pay for anything.

Wells Fargo is one of the big US banks that kept its Quicken connection and its own download files, so for this month's activity you rarely need a converter. The trouble starts with anything older. The download screen covers recent activity, while the statement archive holds the full record, and that archive is PDF only.
That is the moment people come here: a bookkeeper rebuilding a client's prior year in Xero or QuickBooks Online, a household moving five years of history into Moneydance or GnuCash, or a CPA who received a shoebox of printed statements. In each case the statement is the only source, and retyping it is the expensive alternative.
As published on the Wells Fargo Online Documents page.
| Account type | Statements online |
|---|---|
| Checking, savings and other deposit accounts | Up to 7 years |
| Home mortgage, trust and managed investment | Up to 7 years |
| Credit cards, home equity lines, personal loans | Up to 2 years |
| Auto loans | Up to 12 months |
Save card statements before they age out. After two years the copy on your own disk may be the only one you can convert.
A Wells Fargo statement prints one line per posting with a date, a description and an amount in either the deposits or the withdrawals column, and the daily balance beside it. Here is where each piece goes.
| On the Wells Fargo statement | OFX tag | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Posting date | DTPOSTED | Written as YYYYMMDD |
| Deposits or Withdrawals column | TRNAMT and TRNTYPE | One signed amount; money out is negative and typed DEBIT, money in CREDIT |
| Check number | CHECKNUM, TRNTYPE CHECK | Lets the register clear the check by number |
| Transaction description | NAME and MEMO | NAME holds the first 32 characters, the OFX limit; MEMO keeps the full text |
| Nothing printed | FITID | Generated the same way on every export, so re-imports are spotted as duplicates |
| Ending balance | LEDGERBAL | Taken from the statement; omitted when none is printed rather than guessed |
Quicken is the exception. Its Web Connect import accepts only files signed by the bank, so for Quicken use the CSV export and the Quicken bank statement converter column map. Everything that reads plain OFX, from Xero to Microsoft Money, takes the OFX directly.

Drop the PDFs here. Scroll the extracted table and compare total deposits and withdrawals with the summary box Wells Fargo prints on the first page.
OFX for Xero, NetSuite, Moneydance, GnuCash and Money; CSV for Quicken and QuickBooks Online; Excel when the rows are going into workpapers or a lender package.

Wells Fargo lists up to seven years for checking, savings and other deposit accounts, two years for credit cards, home equity lines and personal loans, and 12 months for auto loans. Older statements have to be requested from the bank or scanned from paper.
Yes. Every conversion exports Excel and CSV alongside OFX, with date, description, signed amount and check number in separate columns. Pick whichever file your next step needs; there is no extra charge per format.
The bank's downloads only reach recent activity. If you need last year, a closed account's history, or months a client never downloaded, the PDF statement is the only record left, and that is what this converter reads.
Yes. Business checking statements with many deposits and card settlements convert the same way. Statements over 25 pages need the Plus plan, which has no per-statement page limit.
No. You save the PDFs yourself and upload them. Nothing signs in to Wells Fargo for you, the files stay in your account until you delete them, and they are never used for model training.
