Chase keeps years of your monthly statements online, but only as PDFs. Drop those statements here, compare the rebuilt rows with the beginning and ending balance Chase printed, and download an OFX file your finance program imports, or a CSV and Excel copy for everything else.

Chase hands out your transactions in two places. The account activity screen offers a download in spreadsheet and Quicken or QuickBooks formats, but only for recent activity. The Statements and documents page goes much further back: Chase's own paperless FAQ says you can reach up to seven years of statements, depending on the account type. Everything between those two windows is a PDF, and no ledger program imports a PDF.
So the person who needs a Chase OFX file is almost always filling a hole: a tax year that predates the download window, a business account a client never connected, or a Quicken file that lost its Chase feed. Chase ended Direct Connect for Quicken on October 6, 2022, and plenty of registers still have a blank stretch from that switch. This page turns the statements you can still get into a file those programs accept.
Every row gets a FITID built from its date, amount, description and position on the statement. Export March again next week and the IDs come out identical, so an OFX reader recognizes rows it already has instead of posting them twice.
When a Chase statement lists a check number, that number goes into CHECKNUM and the row is typed CHECK rather than a plain debit. Your register can then clear checks by number, which is how most people reconcile a Chase checking account.
The OFX closing balance comes from the ending balance on the statement. If a page carries no balance, the file leaves the block out instead of inventing a number, because a wrong balance does more damage in a reconciliation than a missing one.
OFX is the right answer for most finance programs, but not all of them. Two popular ones refuse an OFX that a bank did not sign, and for those the CSV is the file that goes in cleanly.
| Where the Chase data is going | Export this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Xero | OFX | Xero's statement import reads OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV and recommends OFX |
| Moneydance, GnuCash | OFX | Both match on FITID, so overlapping months import without duplicates |
| Microsoft Money Plus Sunset | OFX | Money reads an OFX statement file directly, with no bank connection required |
| NetSuite | OFX or CSV | Its bank statement import takes OFX, QFX, CSV, BAI2 and CAMT |
| YNAB | OFX or CSV | Both work in the web app; YNAB matches duplicates on amount and a date within 10 days |
| QuickBooks Online | CSV or OFX | The upload takes either; keep each file under about 1,000 lines |
| Quicken Classic, Windows or Mac | CSV | Web Connect only trusts QFX signed by a participating bank, so a converted file goes in through the CSV import |
| QuickBooks Desktop bank feeds | Chase's own QBO download | Web Connect needs a bank-issued QBO, which no converter can sign, so older months need another route |
For Quicken specifically, the Quicken bank statement converter walks through the CSV column map. If your books are in Xero, the Xero bank statement converter covers the import screen step by step.
On chase.com open Statements and documents, pick the account and year, and save each monthly statement. Paper statements you scanned or photographed work as well.
Drop one statement or a whole year. Each file is read page by page, including the deposit, withdrawal, check and fee sections Chase prints separately.
Compare the extracted rows with the checking summary at the top of the statement. Deposits, withdrawals and the ending balance should agree before you export.
Download OFX for Xero, Moneydance, GnuCash, Money or NetSuite, or CSV and Excel for Quicken, QuickBooks Online and your own workpapers.
A new client banks with Chase Business Complete Checking, never linked the account, and hands over twelve PDFs in April. Converting them to OFX for Xero or CSV for QuickBooks Online takes minutes instead of a day of keying, and the per-page price is a small fraction of the hours it replaces.
A reconnected bank feed usually pulls only a few recent months. The statements fill the rest, and because the FITIDs stay stable, the months that overlap the feed are recognized rather than doubled in Moneydance and other OFX readers.
Schedule C and rental clients often bring Chase statements as their only record. A spreadsheet of every deposit and payment, with check numbers kept, is the fastest path to categorized totals and a clean audit trail.
Income verification, divorce disclosure and estate accounting all start from months of Chase statements. Structured rows let you total deposits by payer or find a recurring payment without reading every page.
Billing is per page, not per statement. A personal Chase checking statement often runs four to six pages, so a full year for one account lands somewhere around 50 to 70 pages. The demo covers 15 pages (5 per file) so you can test a real Chase statement before paying.
Starter is $49 a month, or $294 billed yearly, and includes 3,000 pages a month with up to 25 pages per statement. That is enough for a bookkeeper converting dozens of client years every month. Plus, at $149 a month or $894 a year, lifts the page cap per statement for long business accounts and adds bulk upload of 50 files and an API. Full details are on the pricing page.
OFX (version 1.02, the format every OFX importer still reads), CSV, Excel and JSON. One plan covers all four.
PDF, plus JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and BMP images of paper statements, up to 50 MB per file.
QFX and QBO. Both need a bank's own signature to import through Web Connect, so we do not pretend to make them.
Not as statements. Chase's monthly statements are PDF files. The account activity download offers spreadsheet and Quicken or QuickBooks files, but only for recent activity, so older months have to be converted from the PDF statement to get an OFX file.
Chase says online banking customers can reach up to seven years of statements, depending on the account type. Statements older than that, or from before you enrolled in paperless delivery, have to be ordered from Chase or scanned from paper, and scans convert here as well.
Upload the PDF above, review the extracted transactions against the beginning and ending balance on the statement, and choose OFX as the export. The file carries a posting date, signed amount, description and FITID for every row, plus the ending balance when Chase printed one.
No, and no converter can change that. Quicken's Web Connect import checks for a QFX signed by a participating bank. Export CSV instead and use File, File Import, Banking Transactions, From CSV File, which takes a converted Chase statement in both the Windows and Mac versions.
Yes for business checking and savings, including statements longer than 25 pages on the Plus plan. Chase credit card statements convert too; the dedicated credit card statement to OFX page covers card statements in more detail.
No. You download the statements from Chase yourself and upload the files. Nothing connects to your Chase account, and your files stay in your account until you delete them. They are not used to train models.
