Converting a TD Bank statement to OFX takes three steps: save the PDF from TD Online Banking, upload it to OFXStatement, and export OFX, CSV or Excel. TD Bank gives Online Banking customers up to 7 years of statements, covering anything issued on or after April 2010, so a multi-year catch-up rarely needs a branch visit.

Where to find TD Bank statement PDFs

Personal and business customers use different portals, and the business one has a catch worth knowing before you sit down to collect three years of files.

TD Online Banking (personal)

  • Up to 7 years of statements and notices, organized by account and date.
  • Statements issued on or after April 2010 are online; notices from March 2015 on.
  • Print or download any statement as a PDF, in the browser or the mobile app.
  • Online Banking customers also get paper statements by mail until they switch paper off in Statement Settings.

TD Business Central (business)

  • Deposit account statements under the Statements tab, up to seven years back if the account is that old.
  • Export the latest statement or any earlier one with the Export button beside it.
  • Statement export works from a desktop only, not from the mobile app.
  • You can export part of a statement by picking one of its shorter date files.

Only have the mailed copies? Scan them or take a flat, well-lit photo of each page. The upload takes JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and BMP as well as PDF, and runs OCR on image pages.

Who turns TD Bank statements into data

TD Bank's US branches run from Maine down the East Coast to Florida, with a heavy presence around New York, New Jersey, Boston and Philadelphia. The people converting its statements are mostly professionals billing for the hours they would otherwise spend typing.

Northeast bookkeeping firms

Restaurants, contractors and medical practices bank at TD. A new client with a year of unreconciled activity is a folder of statements to convert, not a feed to reconnect.

Tax preparers in filing season

Schedule C and rental clients bring TD statements as PDFs. Excel with one row per transaction makes income and expense sorting quick.

Lenders, attorneys and forensic accountants

Underwriting, matrimonial and estate matters need deposits and withdrawals listed and totaled. The Excel export is ready to filter.

What you get from each TD statement

OFX 1.0.2

For Xero, NetSuite, Moneydance, GnuCash and QuickBooks Online. Each row gets a repeatable transaction ID, so importing the same month twice does not create duplicates. Checks are typed as checks with their number.

CSV

Date, description and amount columns that QuickBooks Online and Quicken both import. Quicken refuses OFX files not signed by the bank, so its users take this route.

Excel

A workbook for review work: sort by amount, filter large deposits, total by month. Downloading it next to the OFX costs no extra pages.

Long ACH descriptions are cut to 32 characters in the OFX NAME field, which is the format's limit, and kept in full in MEMO. A closing balance goes into the file only when it is printed on the statement. For the Quicken import steps, see the Quicken bank statement converter.

TD Bank statement conversion questions

How far back can I get TD Bank statements online?

TD Bank says Online Banking gives free access to up to 7 years of statements, for statements issued on or after April 2010. In TD Business Central, deposit statements go back up to seven years, provided the account has existed that long.

How do I download a TD Bank statement as a PDF?

Log in to TD Online Banking or the app, open your statements, choose the account and date, and download or print the PDF. Business Central users click Export beside the statement, from a desktop. Then upload the PDF here for OFX, CSV or Excel.

Can I convert a TD Bank statement to Excel?

Yes. Each conversion gives you an Excel file and a CSV alongside the OFX, with the date, description, amount and check number in separate columns. Extra formats from the same conversion use no extra pages.

Can I import TD Bank statements into QuickBooks?

Into QuickBooks Online, yes: upload the CSV or the OFX in the banking screen. QuickBooks Desktop Web Connect accepts only a QBO file issued by the bank, which no converter can make, so Desktop users need a separate CSV import tool.

Is my TD Bank login needed?

No. You upload statement files you saved yourself; there is no connection to your TD account. Files stay in your account until you delete them and are not used to train models.
