AutoEntry charges 3 credits for every page of a bank statement and 1 credit for a whole invoice. This page works out what that means per page on each US plan, and when a focused statement converter costs less. Pricing checked against AutoEntry's own pricing page in August 2026.

AutoEntry sells credits, not pages, and a bank or credit card statement costs 3 credits per page while an invoice costs 1 credit per document. Its US plans run from $13 a month for 50 credits to $469 a month for 2,500 credits, so a statement page effectively costs between 56 and 78 cents depending on the tier. That makes AutoEntry good value for firms automating invoices and receipts into Sage or Xero, and expensive for anyone whose workload is mostly bank statements.
AutoEntry is a capable purchase automation tool owned by Sage, and for invoice heavy practices it is a sensible buy. These are the reasons statement heavy buyers shop around.
A bank or credit card statement is charged at 3 credits per page, while a whole invoice costs 1 credit. Statement work drains an allowance far faster than the plan headline suggests.
Because the charge is per page, a 12 page statement costs 36 credits. Cover pages, summary pages and terms pages all count toward the total.
The $13 Bronze plan carries 50 credits, which is roughly 16 statement pages, or about one and a half monthly bank statements.
The trial includes 25 credits. For statement work that is about 8 pages, which may not cover one full statement from a bank that pads its PDFs.
Credits also fund invoice, receipt, purchase order and mileage capture. If you only convert statements, that is capability you are buying and never opening.
AutoEntry is built to publish into a connected accounting system. If you simply want a clean OFX or CSV file to keep, that is a different shape of tool.
A focused converter that turns bank and card statements into accurate, import-ready files, priced per page rather than per credit.
The Starter plan includes 2,500 standard pages a month, which works out near 2 cents a page rather than a credit multiple.
It runs in your browser on any operating system, with no desktop sync app to keep updated.
Scanned PDFs and phone photos work out of the box in PDF, JPG, PNG, BMP, HEIC, and TIFF, with no separate add-on.
Templates tuned to the layouts and date formats US banks and card issuers actually use.
Export a clean OFX file, a CSV, or an Excel workbook, with QBO export available on the Plus plan.
Bulk upload up to 50 files at once on the Plus plan, and merge a set of files into a single extraction.
No download, no desktop sync, no credit card to start.
Drop in a PDF or scanned bank statement. Multi-page and multi-month files work.
Tip: Password-protected PDFs are supported.
The AI extracts every transaction into structured columns automatically.
Tip: Scanned statements are read with built-in OCR.
Export OFX, CSV or Excel, then import it into your accounting software.
Tip: Columns are reconciliation-ready out of the box.

AutoEntry is Sage’s document capture product. You do not buy pages or documents, you buy credits, and every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance. The table below is the US dollar ladder taken from AutoEntry’s own pricing page in August 2026, with the currency selector set to US Dollar. Prices are quoted excluding VAT. The last two columns are the part AutoEntry does not publish: what those credits are actually worth if the documents you upload are bank statements.
| Plan | Credits per month | Price per month | Statement pages it buys | Cost per statement page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 50 | $13 | 16 | $0.78 |
| Silver | 100 | $24 | 33 | $0.72 |
| Gold | 200 | $46 | 66 | $0.69 |
| Platinum | 500 | $103 | 166 | $0.62 |
| Diamond | 1,500 | $298 | 500 | $0.60 |
| Sapphire | 2,500 | $469 | 833 | $0.56 |
Read the right hand column first. Whatever plan you land on, converting a bank statement page through AutoEntry costs somewhere between 56 cents and 78 cents. That is not a criticism of the product, it is a consequence of how the credit system is designed, and it is the single most important number for anyone shopping specifically for a statement converter.
AutoEntry charges different credit rates for different document types, and it is explicit about this in its own help text: invoices have the lowest charge, while bank statements cost more because of the higher volume of extraction involved. Here is the published rate card.
| Document you upload | Credits it consumes |
|---|---|
| Purchase or sales invoice | 1 credit per invoice |
| Purchase or sales invoice with line items | 2 credits per invoice |
| Expenses | 1 credit per invoice or receipt |
| Supplier statements | 2 credits per statement |
| Bank and credit card statements | 3 credits per page |
Notice the difference in the unit. Invoices, receipts and supplier statements are charged per document. Bank and credit card statements are charged per page, at triple the rate. A single supplier invoice costs one credit. A twelve page bank statement from a US bank costs thirty six.
This is why the plan headlines can be misleading if statements are your workload. The Bronze plan advertises 50 credits a month for $13, which sounds generous until you work out that 50 credits is about sixteen statement pages, or roughly one and a half monthly bank statements. The free trial’s 25 credits is about eight pages, which may not cover a single statement from a bank that pads its PDFs with summary and terms pages.
Take a small bookkeeping practice with 20 clients, each sending one 10 page bank statement a month. That is 200 statement pages, which at 3 credits a page is 600 credits. The Platinum plan at 500 credits is not enough, so the honest answer is the Diamond plan at 1,500 credits for $298 a month. On OFXStatement the same 200 pages sits comfortably inside the Starter plan at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed annually, because Starter includes 2,500 standard pages.
That gap is real, and it is also only half the story. If those same 20 clients are also sending supplier invoices and receipts that need to land in Sage or Xero, AutoEntry is doing a job OFXStatement does not do at all, and paying one vendor beats paying two. Price the work you actually have in front of you, not the headline rate.
AutoEntry is not a statement converter that happens to be expensive. It is a purchase automation tool that also reads statements, and judged on what it is built for it is strong. It captures invoices, receipts, bank statements, purchase orders, and expenses and mileage in one place, then publishes the results straight into Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, KashFlow, SortMyBooks and ClearBooks. There is no download and re-import step, which is a genuine workflow saving when documents arrive every day rather than once a month.
Two other things are worth calling out honestly. Every plan includes unlimited users, which matters for a firm that would otherwise pay per seat. And unused credits stay available for up to 90 days rather than evaporating at the end of the month, which is unusually forgiving for a metered product and helps if your volume is lumpy around quarter end. Being owned by Sage also means the Sage integration is a first party one.
OFXStatement publishes this page, so read the middle column as a vendor describing its own product and check the claims. We convert PDF and scanned bank and credit card statements into OFX, CSV and Excel, with QBO export on the Plus plan. We do not read invoices, we do not read receipts or purchase orders, and we do not sync directly into Sage, Xero or QuickBooks. Here is the comparison as fairly as we can put it.
| What you are comparing | OFXStatement | AutoEntry |
|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | Pages processed | Credits, and a statement page costs 3 of them |
| Entry plan | $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly | $13 a month for 50 credits |
| Statement pages on the entry plan | 2,500 standard pages, plus 500 on the higher accuracy model | About 16 pages |
| Document types | Bank and credit card statements | Invoices, receipts, bank statements, purchase orders, expenses and mileage |
| Export formats | OFX, CSV and Excel, with QBO on the Plus plan | Publishes into the connected accounting system |
| Direct accounting sync | No, you download the file and import it | Yes, into Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and others |
| Unused allowance | Resets monthly | Credits keep for up to 90 days |
| Users included | 1 seat on Starter, 3 on Plus | Unlimited users on every plan |
| Free testing | Free demo, 15 pages, watermarked output | Trial with 25 credits, about 8 statement pages |
| Best for | High volume statement to OFX or CSV conversion | Firms automating mixed purchase paperwork into Sage or Xero |
The case for a focused converter is narrow and specific. If the pile on your desk is bank and credit card statements, if the volume is high enough that a per page rate of 60 to 78 cents starts to hurt, and if you are content to download a file and import it yourself, then paying credit rates for invoice automation you never open is money spent on capability rather than output. If your pile is mixed, that logic reverses immediately.
Count the statement pages you process in a normal month, including the cover page, the summary page and any blank or terms pages the bank pads the PDF with, because those count too. Multiply by three. That is your monthly AutoEntry credit requirement for statements alone, before a single invoice. Then add one credit for every invoice or receipt, or two if your invoices need line item detail, and look up which plan the total lands in.
If statements dominate the number, a dedicated converter will almost certainly cost less. If invoices and receipts dominate, AutoEntry earns its price and the statement handling comes along as a bonus. If your work is genuinely split, run both trials on the same week of real documents and compare the output, not the marketing. For a broader view across the category, our best bank statement converter roundup and our DocuClipper review cover the other tools buyers usually shortlist alongside this one.
Moving statement work off a credit based tool is low risk because the output is a standard file. Convert a statement, export an OFX file, and import it the same way you import any statement. If your destination is a spreadsheet rather than an accounting package, the PDF bank statement to CSV converter produces a tidy file you can map to any template. If you are moving Quicken work, note that plain OFX is not the file Quicken wants for a bank account, and our guide to the Quicken Web Connect file explains what does work. Keep AutoEntry for the invoice and receipt flow if that is where it earns its keep, and let the statements go somewhere cheaper per page.
AutoEntry US plans run from $13 a month for 50 credits (Bronze) up to $469 a month for 2,500 credits (Sapphire), quoted excluding VAT, with Silver at $24, Gold at $46, Platinum at $103 and Diamond at $298. Above 2,500 credits AutoEntry asks you to book a demo for a custom package. Prices change, so check AutoEntry's own pricing page for current figures.
Bank and credit card statements cost 3 credits per page, which is the highest rate on AutoEntry's rate card. A 12 page statement therefore consumes 36 credits. By comparison a purchase or sales invoice costs 1 credit per document, 2 if it needs line item detail, and a supplier statement costs 2 credits.
No. AutoEntry is a paid subscription with a free trial that includes 25 credits. For statement work those 25 credits are worth about 8 pages, because statements are charged at 3 credits a page, so the trial may not cover one full bank statement. There is no permanently free tier.
Yes. AutoEntry publishes captured data into QuickBooks, and also into Sage, Xero, FreeAgent, KashFlow, SortMyBooks and ClearBooks. That direct sync is one of its real advantages over converters that hand you a file to import yourself.
AutoEntry states that you keep unused credits for up to 90 days, which is more forgiving than metered tools that reset the allowance at the end of each month. It helps when your document volume is lumpy around quarter end or tax season, though credits do eventually expire.
If your workload is specifically bank and credit card statements, a focused converter priced per page will usually cost less than a credit system that charges 3 credits per statement page. OFXStatement converts PDF and scanned statements into OFX, CSV and Excel. If you also need invoices, receipts and purchase orders captured into Sage or Xero, AutoEntry does a job a statement converter does not.
No. AutoEntry is owned by Sage and integrates with Sage products as a first party tool, but it is billed as its own subscription on the credit plans above. Bundling can vary by Sage product and region, so confirm with Sage or AutoEntry what your specific subscription includes.
